21 Nov How To Share A Cup of Starbucks Coffee on your social media
Do you want to know how you can express your love and apprecation with your community that will surprise you?
Treat them to Coffee!
No, I don’t mean take everyone out individually and get them coffee (which would be great if we all had more hours in the day!)
It’s as simple as sharing the barcode on your Instagram story or a Facebook post that you purchase through the Starbucks app. The only thing your community will need to do is head down to their local Starbucks order their favorite Coffee and scan the code (from their phone) to the barista and they can enjoy a cup on you!
I can tell you by just doing this you never know when someone is going through a tough time and may need a pick me up and this was the perfect way for me to give back to anyone. With everything happening this year and the online space their are so many times we forget about community and this really simple way can have you doing that!
I want you to be able to love on your community the same way I had the chance too, so I’m going to share with you how easy it is! (If you already have a Starbucks account skip to number six!
1. Download the Starbucks App on your iPhone or Android.
2. After downloading the mobile app, create your free account by clicking on “Join Rewards”
3. You know the drill…give all the pertinent details to set up your free account.
4. Don’t forget to go to your email inbox to verify your account
5. You’re in! Next, you will enter your choice of payment information to your account to your account. Click “Load your Card”.
6. Now that your account is set up, click on “GIFT” at the bottom of your screen next to “ORDER”.
7. Select the artwork you’d like to appear on the eGift card you’ll be sharing with your community. I recently shared some Coffee on me, so I chose a fun theme..
8. Now that you’ve selected the artwork, add yourself as the recipient, and select the dollar amount you want available on the gift card. I wouldn’t add more than $25, to begin with (don’t worry we’ll talk budget and adding more money at the end of this post). Now select “Send” at the top right of your screen.
9. You will receive a few emails from Starbucks, but the one you want to pay attention to “REDEEM YOUR EGIFT” button.
10. This will open the eGift card with the barcode you will share. Take a screenshot on your phone of this so you can share it on your Instagram Story or a Facebook post. Make sure to crop out your card number and dollar amount. People will be able to walk right up into Starbucks and show the barista this barcode to pay for their cup of coffee.
11. Now time to share it! Share the gift of Coffee with your community. Here is how I recently shared this gift on my Instagram Stories.
I posted the picture above early in the morning with the barcode and then a hour later I went on my Instagram stories to talk about it and tell people that Coffee is really on me.
12. Last but not least, let’s talk about how to manage your gift budget.
First you definitely want a budget! Whether your budget is $25 or $300, you’ll want to set that budget and stick to it. Secondly, if you have a budget higher than $25, it’s best to set an auto-reload amount that adds a certain dollar amount that you determine when your balance falls below a certain amount (this way no one is left hanging).
Important: When you set your auto-reload amount I would suggest setting it no more than $10-$20 at a time. This will help curb those potential BIG spenders out their from ordering coffee and pastries for their whole family!
If you go with the auto-reload option you will want to make sure to watch your card balance and turn off but-reload when you get close to reaching your budget.
Now have fun treating your community to a cup of coffee and let me know how it goes!
